Street School

We organized an educational event in the centre of Kabale for the street children of Kabale. This proved a very successful event both for the children and for the community as well. The event was an art lesson for the street children. It was a first attempt to explore the possibility of establishing regular lessons in the streets.

Our aims were:

- Offering the street children a positive experience through the art process;

- Restoring some hope to the children that people care about them;

- Sensitising the community to the existence of the street children and their needs;

- Demonstrating the children’s abilities;

- Exemplifying how the local community can engage with the street children in a positive way.

We plan to continue the street school events whenever we are in Kabale.
